32:20 that was the finale of series 4. The 4 eps you have left were specials that released over the span of a year but they usually get lumped in with series 4.

It was the end of season 4. The next 5 episodes were a series of specials that aired over a whole year starting with Christmas 2008 and ending over a year later on New Years Day 2010

Companion departures are always hard... but this is certainly one of the most heartbreaking, in the show's entire history. I think it's telling that two of the four members of the Cult of Skaro turned against the Daleks. A Dalek's function is to obey their commander unquestioningly, and any independent thought is a character flaw to be overcome or stamped out -- except for the Cult of Skaro, whose _job_ was to think; to imagine, so as to better understand their enemies. Of all the Daleks permitted to think, a full half of them thought, _this is wrong._ For Sec, it took being pushed to the brink of extinction for him to imagine that survival was more important than "purity". For Caan, all it took was knowledge. He saw Time; he saw _everything,_ which means he saw the world from a non-Dalek point of view. The lesson of the cult of Skaro is undeniable: the greatest weapons against xenophobia, nationalism, and hatred are thought and knowledge, and the suppression of knowledge and thought is the _only_ way such hatred can exist. Davros is... an interesting one. The sort of man who will destroy reality itself, for no reason other than to prove that he can. The classic story _Genesis of the Daleks_ gives us a glimpse of the society that produced him, and the audio drama _I, Davros_ expands upon it. Both are worth checking out, if you want more background on the creator of the Daleks.

This was the end of the series. Then David Tennant went away to do other things, (theatre, if I remember right) and there was a set of specials (Christmas, Easter, November, then Christmas and New Year). So there wasn't an actual series in 2009, just the specials. Streaming services tend to get confused by specials that aren't part of a series, so they get tacked onto one of the other series (as happens with the normal Christmas episodes - only the first one with Dickens was actually part of the series it gets attached to).

Donna is the best companion. But she has so little time. In fact, Donna is only in one season. And other companions are constantly being added to it. There was no point in bringing Rose back. She had her own two seasons. Just like Martha.

I once saw someone make the point that what’s really *really* satisfying about this climax is that it’s the first story of the modern era where the Daleks are not just defeated but humiliated. The whole main cast of the past 4 seasons shoving them around like big toys they don’t take seriously is a catharsis years in the making.

This has always been the single most heartbreaking episode of Who for me. The realest companion we ever had, all those wonderful things forgotten. Breaks me every time 😭😭

The story of donner crushes me as a person, She is and will always be my favorite companion she was such a amazing FRIEND only to the doctor and challenges him when she thinks hes wrong but is also there to do the worst of things like in Pompeii and the fact she felt so awful about herself even up until the mid of this episode, i felt so much joy seeing that disappear and her become confident so the fact that not only is she losing all those amazing things she did with the doctor she's also losing that inner confidence and love for herself she gained and that hurt me so much because she's like i said my favorite companion, out of any previous or whatever anyone says about future companions they did her so dirty in this that it still hurts to this day i don't think any other companion has or will have it as bad as she did losing all that

Laughing and crying is part of the Doctor Who experience. Donna's my favorite companion as well. Just brash and cheeky and full of heart always. Series 4 is my favorite as well, but there are still many many good seasons to come, but this will always be my favorite Season Finale. You've got a lot to look forward too on your Whovian journey. Fun note, ended up meeting a friend while doing some volunteer work who said he was a "Wholigan" rather than a "Whovian".

The heart wrenching thing is she finally FINALLY sees her self worth and that is 100% down to her travels with him and all she’s accomplished and just as she’s confident in herself, it’s all wiped away.

And this is why we love Wilf.

Donna is truly one of the best all time companions with the saddest endings.

Donna is A LOT of people's favourite companion. Series 4 is my fav series of the whole show.

This episode was Endgame before Endgame, honestly what an amazing finale, it has everything you’d ever want.
